Zara was born into a family of actors and musicians, where creativity took centre stage! Music was always to be heard resonating from her house, so it was no wonder she felt an affiliation to all things musical from the get-go!
Zara began piano lessons at the age of 8 and continued to study music throughout high school. As a teenager, she joined a local musical theatre group and quickly found a passion for singing.
She went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts in Media and Drama, which included studies in Children’s Theatre.
In 2013 she became involved with the organisation Very Special Kids, assisting children with additional needs by partaking in music/sensory/play sessions. Through this, Zara was able to see first-hand the power that music had to engage and connect with children of different abilities.
Zara also spent time volunteering at a local Pre-School where she thoroughly enjoyed taking part in a range of activities with the 3-4 year old age groups, including music and storytelling.
It became clear to Zara that she now had an additional passion; working with young children! As such, she decided to complete the Certificate 3 in Early Childhood Education and Care.
It was the introduction to Mini Maestros with her two daughters, a few years later, that finally lead her to the idea of combining her passion for music with her love of teaching young children.
With this perfect pairing, Zara feels she has found her dream role and is so excited to be a part of the MM team, spreading the joy of music!
