Melissa Eilers commenced teaching with Mini Maestros in 2005 and is one of our most experienced teachers.
Melissa has always been passionate about both music and teaching. Melissa’s musical life has involved studying guitar and voice, as well as performing as the lead singer for a corporate functions band around Melbourne. Melissa’s experience working with children spans a diverse age range, including having three children of her own, as well as studying Education, spending several years doing private child care and running youth groups for underprivileged teenagers.
When asked about why she loves teaching the Mini Maestros program, Melissa said: “I can’t imagine not working with children. As much as I am their teacher, I am also their student. Children open my eyes to so many possibilities and teach me to ‘look outside the square’. Mini Maestros provides a fun, safe and comfortable environment for children to be themselves while enjoying music. Watching children grow confident in themselves, musically and also physically and socially is such a beautiful reward.”
