Helen Killen has been teaching the Mini Maestros Music Program since 2001. Her passion for music has been present from very early on listening to her Mum and Dad sing at their wedding reception venue (while she danced!), right through to studying music at secondary school and onto teaching Mini Maestros. Helen owned the Eltham/Greensborough franchise of Mini Maestros for many years before selling in 2007 to focus more on family, including one child with a disability. Helen says, “Both my children have completed the full Mini Maestros program so being able to experience it from both parent and teacher perspectives gives me an added insight”. She adds, “I am convinced that my child with an Autism Spectrum Disorder has a greater understanding of language due to her constant exposure to music. There is no greater joy than to create an environment that brings a love and appreciation of music to a young child…..and parent! I look forward to sharing that joy with you and your child.”
